In 2020, GACELL A/S was acquired by the German battery company A. Müller, which took over 51% of GACELL in the purchase. A. Müller has sales offices in several places in Europe, including Germany, England, the Netherlands, and Denmark. In 2022, Sunlight acquired 51% of A. Müller. Sunlight is a Greek company and is one of the world's largest battery manufacturers of both lead/acid and lithium. This means that GACELL is now part of a large international conglomerate, which includes a strong focus on the Nordic market.
